MISSION & VISION

The purpose of The Brilliance Debutante Cotillion, Inc. is to build character and self-esteem in teen girls by providing them with workshops in etiquette, self-esteem, character building, and college readiness, as well as opportunities for volunteer service; to aid them in becoming well mannered, thoughtful, community minded individuals who are equipped to become productive and successful members of society. Our goal is also to encourage the pursuit of higher education and to provide scholarship opportunities for college bound high school teen girls.

Our History

The Brilliance Debutante Cotillion began in 2012 more than 15 years after founder Betsy Robinson attended a debutante ball and was captivated by the idea of young girls participating in a program that transformed them into young women. Mrs. Robinson saw an opportunity to take an old tradition and make it into something new and improved. She decided that her program would not only help young women become better prepared to enter the social scene of adulthood, but that it would also help to prepare them to obtain a higher education and career in the future.

Although it still holds on to certain traditions such as etiquette classes and waltz lessons, the Brilliance Debutante Cotillion offers workshops on public speaking, interview skills, and college preparation, as well as community service opportunities. It encourages young girls to aspire to be the best they can be in all aspects of their lives, especially in their education.

With its new and improved way of carrying out an old tradition, the Brilliance Debutante Cotillion is sure to impact the lives of many young women in the future.
